Keynote speaker

Conference keynote speaker is a prominent media and narrative theorist, Jan-Noël Thon, author of the newly published Transmedial Narratology and Contemporary Media Culture–a pioneering book in transmedial narratology and one of the most important reference books in transmedial narrative studies.

Jan-Noël Thon studied German literature, British literature, and media studies at the University of Hamburg. From April 2008 to March 2012, he was a lecturer in literature and media studies at the University of Hamburg. From January 2009 to December 2011, he received a PhD scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation for a project on transmedial narratology and contemporary media culture. From September 2010 to September 2011, he was a research associate at the Research Unit “Media Convergence” of the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz. Since January 2012, he is a research associate at the Department of Media Studies of the University of Tuebingen.
